Columbia Island south to Old Town and back

I am still getting used to my new boat. It is very different from any boat I have paddled regularly. It is not a "fast" boat, but is quite comfortable in chop, even "following seas."

I hadn't ever paddled south from the Marina into the docks at the Torpedo Factory. We had a south wind that was pushing lovely little rollers towards us. Coming back the wind died a bit and the water was flatter.
Leaving the Marina and turning south I snapped a couple of shots

Brian held my bow for me so I could snap a couple

I generally find boats with rocker visually attractive. Of course I think this boat is a beauty.
I didn't take many photos. I mainly concentrated on learning the feel of the boat. I was pretty comfortable in it. It has grown on me quickly. The only downside I can see is the weight. 60 pounds is a whole lot. It is right on the edge of what my fingers can hold on to.
