I am a maker, a craft's person. In practicing my maker-craft I find myself producing items that no one seems to get. I honestly do not get it myself sometimes.
I paint on fabric, a medium I have really delved into over the last 25 years.
More recently I started deconstructing my paintings after finishing the process of making them. Then, I turn the paintings into little hand bags. Honestly, I do not know why I love this process so much, the making, the deconstructing, and then the making again. When the piece is all finished, really finished, it gets cataloged and photographed. Then it gets carefully wrapped in paper and stored. I have many little handbags that I have made, but I have only made about 5 or so I have made out of paintings. It is a pretty intensive process to produce what is a trifling small example of my craftiness.
Then I think to myself, "nobody gets this, or wants it." But I keep exploring this medium anyway, making myself question. Look at this thing that I made.
