Oh the Angst! The First World Problems!

I spent last week in the Florida Keys. I missed the WashDC epic low temperatures. Instead, I was playing upon balmy blue waters with one of my favorite people and some new friends.

Oh. Where do I start? I just had the most wonderful adventure. I got to spend time with my sometimes teachers and pick up some tips from them. I explored my new boat, the Sirocco. I enjoyed almost every moment of last week, even the day or so I was alone before the tour started. Maybe with the exception the rest of the day after I hurt myself. Otherwise, I had a wonderful time.

My Nikon Coolpix AW100 is mostly toast. It kept fogging up inside. No longer water tight, it will be relegated to hikes, camping, and trips into DC as soon as I can figure out a replacement. Due to the fogging, many of my photos will appear slightly out of focus. The fogging can only be so cropped out.

My First World Problem: I have more than a 1000 photos to edit. Egads! Oh, the horror! Forced to spend hours in front of my pc looking at water, when I would rather be playing on the water. Whatever.

First thought from the trip: I need to move somewhere warmer. I slept great and my shoulders barely hurt the whole time I was down there.

Second thought: I really like my Sirocco, it's a good boat. Brian is going to punch a hole in it though, if I keep extolling its virtues.

Third...aw, screw it! Here's some pictures instead:

Apparently I was channeling Steve Irwin- harasser of wild life-- while down there. Seen here, a Portuguese Man O'War! CRIKEY!!! I can think of few things that excite me like a beautiful but quite toxic colony of microbes.

As I am editing photos I came to realize that Brian has become my favorite human photo subject. I'm sure somewhere there is a paddler who is even more amazing in their boat but in my limited experience Brian is the sh*t. Plus, he reminds me somewhat of a British explorer with the hat and chops.

So, I'm just warning you, there'll be a *whole lotta Brian* in the next few days. Get used to it. He is so photogenic, I can't imagine a better subject available to me.

Thanks for giving me your time Brian. I am most appreciative.

  2. Sorry, replaced. You'll have to work hard to regain your coveted spot as "Number 1 human photo subject!"
