Time to return to the sewing machine

My dear reader may know that I am a costumer. I mainly sew Iron Age reenactment clothing (commonly referred to as "garb") for others as well my family. It is a creative outlet for me. I especially enjoy making hats.

I also quilt little hand bags, tablet sleeves, pretty little things.

I also sometimes make lap quilts, and occasionally bigger quilts.

Sewing and quilting these things has taught me the art of patience and preparation. Even a tiny bag needs so many elements, zipper, little pocket, finishes...I never appreciated an iron as much as I do now. I still do not iron anything I *wear* but my iron sees constant use on the craft table. Prep work is the main part of making a bag or hat. Once everything is laid out and prepared just so, the act of sewing the object is remarkably brief in comparison.

This facet of my creative self has instructed me to slow down.

So, time to sew again. I pulled out the fabric bins with great interest today. I really like this.
