- Budded my etsy store into two distinct stores. One sells paintings, fabric arts, and little hand bags. The other sells reenactment related goods, crafts, and vintage items. The second store gets a fair amount of traffic and I am sitting on about 50 more items that need to be listed. I can only photograph, catalog, and list 5 or 10 items a day. Between the editing of the photos and all the work that goes into cleaning and cataloging the pieces, 10 is the max. It has turned into actual work!
2. I have completed the first part of my coastal kayak instructor path. I have a trip leading endorsement as well as American Canoe Association certification as a Level 3 instructor. I am constantly practicing. I especially love just dropping the boat in a small body of water and working on pivot turns, edging, and rolling. I also have a student who takes one-on-one lessons from me.
3. I am busy making stock for the stores as well as taking custom orders. In the last two weeks leading up to Pennsic, the SCA's biggest event of the year, I have made 4 or 5 custom pieces. Generally people ask me to sew them costumes. I am good at costuming, and I have a pretty decent understanding of Viking, Germanic, and Celtic clothing (also known as garb).
I have just been so busy. I did not think a year ago that I would be this busy. I have two blogs to write and keep up with. I still run events for the local kayaking club. I am working on supporting a girl friend's new business. I am planning a trip down to Southport to play in the big water while it is warm. I will be transporting other paddlers's boats to help defray costs. I am busy. I think I may be tired. Good tired, but tired none the less.
