My first pitch pole

I'm really trying to write more. I've been pretty busy, finishing up orders for the pre-season NDK container, and holidays, training...making hats, lots of hats...

Anyway, Rob and I got down to Tybee in October to do a quick session with Dale Williams. Here, then, is video evidence of my first pitch pole:

As far as the pitch pole goes, I was in my Latitude, which tends to speed forward. Since this little incident, I've had a hand full of similar experiences, but without the full go-down. I've learned to spot the deep pearling that precedes the pitch and throw my weight back while edging hard in order to bring the bow out of the water.

So far so good. But this one endo, it impressed me. I hope to avoid another.

Be safe peeps!
